RevelSI Joins EU-Funded PERUN Project to Tackle Next-Generation AI Cyber Threats

Bucharest, October 2025 – RevelSI is proud to announce its participation in PERUN – Protecting Sensitive Cyber Ecosystems from Upcoming Next Generation and AI-generated Malware Threats, a project funded under the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme.
PERUN officially began on October 1, 2025, and aims to deliver a European cybersecurity response to the rapidly evolving landscape of next-generation cyber threats. With a focus on AI-driven and stealth malware, PERUN seeks to enhance Europe’s cyber resilience and safeguard critical digital infrastructure across sectors.
The consortium brings together 17 partners - including research institutions, universities, technology providers, and non-profit organizations - from Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Romania, Spain, and Switzerland. The project is led by the Fern Universität in Hagen, Germany. Together, the participants will develop AI- and ML- powered solutions to protect national cybersecurity infrastructures, research and education networks, energy grids, NGOs, and Security Operations Centers.
The PERUN project aims to enhance the security and resilience of digital infrastructures - national-level cybersecurity infrastructures, education and research networks, critical energy infrastructures, digital infrastructures of NGOs providing critical services, and security operations centres (SOCs) across various sectors - by developing advanced cybersecurity solutions that leverage AI/ML technologies.
RevelSI contributes to engineering and operationalization across two streams. First, the company will build a SOC-integrated, web-based application that applies AI, ML, NLP, semantic search, and large language models to fuse threat intel (CVEs, MISP, IoC) with internal runbooks - delivering prioritized recommendations for Threat Detection and Response and accelerating Incident Response via concise summaries, action sequencing, and SOAR/SIEM integrations.
Second, RevelSI will design custom network-traffic embeddings (packet header, payload, and context) and train anomaly- and signature-aware models to enhance IDS/IPS efficacy, including analytics for encrypted flows and zero-day behaviors.
The project is funded by the European Union with up to 5.5 million euros over a runtime of three years.
